Prof. X. Lladó received the B.S. degree in Computer Science (1999) and the PhD in Computer Engineering (2004) from the University of Girona (supervisors: Dr. Joan Martí and Prof. Maria Petrou). From 2004 to 2006, I was working as a Post-doctoral Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London with Dr Lourdes Agapito. Currently, I'm an Full Professor of the Department of Computer Architecture and Technology of the University of Girona. My research interests are in the field of Image Processing, Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision, with especial interest in medical image analysis where I'm leading different research projects and participating in transferring the developed technologies. I have published more than 200 papers in journals and conferences with peer review process. I am also reviewer of more than 20 JCR journals and 15 international conferences and I have been member of the Program Committee and the organization of several conferences. . I'm also a senior member of the IEEE.
The NIC group is part of the Computer Vision and Robotics group (ViCOROB) which is a consolidated research group at the University of Girona (Spain), recognised since 2008 by the Government of Catalonia as a Technological Innovation Network Center (TECNIO). The group has been working for over 20 years, bringing together researchers from different areas of knowledge, including Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics. ViCOROB combines top level research with technology transfer, focusing on basic and applied research projects, promoting values such as respect, diversity, work, internationalisation, and entrepreneurship.
