TWO SIMPLE METHODS (II)

3D digitisation

1. Put an object end under the stripe fallin again on Y = 0. Set Yobject = 0.

2. Acquire an image, threshold + thinning + browsing

3. For each f (xim yim) ? 0

recover associated X, Z

add (X, Yobject , Z) to the output cloud of point

4. Move the object ?Y along the Y axis and increase Yobject by ?Y

5. Repeat 2 - 4 until the object surpases the light plane

Advantages

• simple

• very easy to implement

• fast 3d digitization

Drawbacks

• does not account for image distorsions along the yim axis

• requires the stripe to be exactly parallel to the xim axis

• interpolation of X, Z

• senses only one object section per image
