The Computer Vision and Robotics Research Group (VICOROB) of the University of Girona is devoted to the research related to the areas of computer vision, image processing, and mobile robotics. Our team focus its efforts in the study and further development of new algorithms, methods and techniques  of image processing needed for scene segmentation and description, object tracking,  image registration, image stabilisation, feature extraction, contour detection, and 3D reconstruction. This techniques can be applied in different fields like security, quality control, metrology and medical imaging. Our team also works in the research and development of intelligent robots for field operations where vision plays an important role. In particular, we develop autonomous underwater robots with high resolution video mapping capabilities. Our research interest is focused on robot prototyping, intelligent control architectures, Navigation, Guidance and Control and mapping.
