ABOUT ME

My name is Natalia, and I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Girona, Spain. I am a hard-working, motivated, and enthusiastic data scientist interested in almost all Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligent techniques. What motivates me the most is getting good results no matter what field I work in.

WHAT CAN I DO

Android applications

5 years successful experience as Android Developer

Web applications

Gained hands-on experience performing web applications, having worked mainly with Yii (a php framework) and Spring (a java framework) frameworks. To do web design I usually use bootstrap.

Stream learning

I have worked with stream-learning algorithms, with aid of the MOA and WEKA libraries.

Data-splitting

Regarding my research in security, I have implemented, and tested the performance of several privacy-preserving protocols to compute both the distance correlation, and the distance covariance over categorical data.

Neural Network and Deep learning

I have tested with a fully-connected network structure with several layers, testing with different activation functions. I have also tested with Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) using the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) architecture. To do this, I have used Keras and Theano python libraries.

Pattern Mining

Regarding my research in pattern mining, I have created and implemented in python of new sequential and temporal pattern mining algorithms (vertTIRP, VEPRECO) that are fundamental in the data mining field with broad applications, such as market basket analysis, text analysis, energy reduction in smart-homes, web-page click-stream analysis, e-learning, sentiment analysis, programmer's code recommendation and bioinformatics.

Design & Development of an Android and Spring Applications (called NOAH) for premature babies healthcare monitoring at home based on case-based reasoning. NOAH has been a finalist in the mHealth category in the E-health summer university (Université d'éte de la e-santé, Castres, França) - http://www.universite-esante.com/en/, and also in the II VHIR Health Innovation Competition - http://goo.gl/Qbll2x

Integration of NOAH with the Josep Trueta hospital. NOAH also was one of the applications that overcame the challenge of successfully bringing connectivity and interoperability with the Digital Health Platform, to the mConnectathon of the TicSalut Foundation, in Barcelona.
