Recommender Systems for the Open Negotiation Environment (ONE)

European project for developing a framework for creating coalitions between electronic institutions (Dynamic Electronic Institutions - DEIs) in a digital business ecosystem – Fulfilment phase. On the DEIs there are three phases on the called 3F cycle: Formation, Foundation and Fulfilment. The recommender system works with Open Agent Systems, that means that their components (agents) are not known a priori, can change over time, and can be heterogeneous and exhibit very different behaviours. Open agent systems are also characterized by limited trust and conflicting individual goals. The last phase of the DEI, the Fulfilment, is when the institution has fulfilled all its objectives, and the association should be dissolved.

Developing an agent for the ART Testbed

Based on enthusiastic response from the agent trust community, the Trust Competition Testbed Initiative has been launched, charged with the task of establishing a testbed for agent trustand reputation-related technologies.

Agent Reputation and Trust (ART) Testbed simulates a business environment as a game. Agents that participate in the game are service providers that can offer information services. The information they offer can be based on their own knowledge or can be bought from other service providers. The game is structured so that buying information from others benefit a seller if the information sources are trustworthy but may harm the seller if they are not. This raises the question of whom to trust.
