International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (SPECTS 2007)
San Diego, California (USA), July 16-18, 2007

SPECTS_Summary

This article presents an approach for capacity planning of multiservice IP networks with consideration of bandwidth dimension and service differentiation for elastic, real-time and for multicast traffics. A prototype (Multservice Network Planning (MSNEP)) of this approach is implemented in Java and can be used for dimensioning the bandwidth and planning the capacity in order to provide QoS for multimedia applications. Experiments of using the methods for improving the QoS ware carried out with insightful results.
