SPECTS_Summary

Over the past few years a number of researchers have focused on context-awareness, inference, and interoperability. The event-based communication has become a new paradigm for building a large-scale distributed system. Such systems need to support event ordering in order to accurately and efficiently notify their clients of new relevant information. In this paper we propose a new efficient publish/subscribe scheme and the corresponding modeling and evaluation approach, which ensures total ordering among the events and provides the clients with a set of events relevant to their declarations. Performance evaluation through experiment reveals that the proposed scheme displays a significant improvement over the existing event service in terms of event delivery time as the number of suppliers or event size increases.
